    Got my tank today!

I brought it home in the new addition to the fleet:

R32ran meets Bluran - a 2.0 FSI Auto Highline (though there is a Damaged EOS V6 available too... and I ALREADY have a manual ECU for the 2.0 - either one could happen!)

R32rans fuel tank just needs some leak testing, then component fitting and installation! WooHooo!

I can only assume you're building this car with Duran Duran on in the background.

The engineering problems are likely insurmountable. It would be like proposing to land a rocket booster section on a barge floating in the middle of the ocean.

Making some holes, so I can fill in the big holes:

Now... just have to wait for the hardeware to arrive, so I can fit studs, then fit the senders/vents/pump to pressure test the tank. The studs will be button head bolts, fitted from the inside with aluminium sealing washers and Wurth DP300 sealer. They'e coming in the post though.... waiting, waiting.

    Leak testing:

Damn... 2 leaks - I thought that was pretty good for about 300 kms of welding It's welded inside and out, except the top plate.

Haha! I did "leak test" the areas without weld... just to be sure ;-)

I dropped the tank off at a local place that we do business with at work. They're gonna fix the 2 leaks for free! I already bought them some beer though :-)

In other news... School trip planned for the 28th Feb... I reckon I have "a snowballs chance in hell" of finishing it, getting it certed and legal in 14 days though

School trips, with other peoples kids, in illegal cars... is frowned upon. Apparently.

    Wellity, wellity, wellity...

Got my bits and pieces sorted

Tank in, bolted to a crosmember:

Starting to fit the heavy duty mounts:

All the connectiions are done, just needs the main mounts completed, adaptation of the reserve level etc, and filling right up!

    Then driveshaft and exhaust...

... Of course my wife is working this weekend, so I'm on Daddy-Daycare. All the above was done last night, then bed at midnight
