Hello,
Looking for some assistance on a retrofit of a MIB2 into a 2015 Passat.
Love the new setup. It is so much faster than my RNS510, but there are some small issues that i'm confident can be overcome.
Issues
- The car has bluetooth and the radio has bluetooth, and I think both are talking to the MFI making the MFI go a little crazy. I'd like some way to disable the bluetooth on the car, but it isn't as simple as removing the 9w7/2/3 etc because there is nothing under the passenger seat in my 2015. (My bt module was there in my 2010). Sometimes the MFI wants me to connect my phone (even though it is already connected to the MIB2's radio) and sometimes it shows it connected to the MIB and then it will suddenly drop off.
- The audio is super loud -- at 10% it was like the radio is at 50-60% and 25% is like 100%. I think this is because I had a fender amp and it doesn't know anything about that
- There is no ability to use the fader. I see balance, but no fader
Probably know solution to this issue:
- The mic doesn't work - I am thinking this is just a polarity thing on the mics, but unsure. I'm having someone help me with the install and need to head over there to get the unit pulled out to test, so that one is probably on hold for now.
Note, I did go into 19 CANBUS to uncheck 77 telephone which I was hoping would kill off the onboard bluetooth but it wasn't checked to begin with....
