Good day
I recently bought myself the VCDS cable and I am experimenting to see all the cool stuff I can do.
I saw in another post that the headlight brightness can be increased. Is this possible on the Audi A4 (8K)? If so, how?

I suspect that what is and isn't possible in this respect may depend on how your car is equipped, i.e. halogen vs. xenon headlights, and conventional vs. LED tails, as well as exactly which control modules are in your car. So please post an Auto-Scan. This show people all the relevant details.

I'm not that skilled at interpreting this data, but it looks to me like:

Your battery was last changed on: 2016-04-07
You've had lots of no-load under-voltage incidents this month and last.
There are no recent no-load current overages.
You've had 20 "trips" and "standing time" in the last few days. I suspect these were actually times when you were playing with VCDS and pulled the state-of-charge to an unacceptably low level.

Have you got a battery charger?

No, but I'm going to go for a drive now to see if there's any difference. Also, I don't go to work with the car so it's parked most of the week. Don't know whether that might influence the battery reading

Just a thought... Last time I had something draining my battery it turned out to be my tracker. Maybe the device's battery needs replacement? Fortunately my contract expired and I will do a new installation soon then monitor again

So I activated the battery meter on my radio. Seems to drop due to playing around with vcds while ignition and radio on. Drove the the car and battery meter was back on 100% will check if it drops again

@uwe I'd like to believe the battery charge decreased from having the ignition on while doing some mods with the vcds. If possible, could you please assist with headlight brightness (not drl)

I was looking into the same thing for my A4 b8. The ballasts and bulbs themselves cannot be brightened through vcds. If you have dim hid bulbs, they may just need replacement. If you turn the lights on and the bulbs go from a true white to a tint of yellow slowly over a few seconds it's a sign the bulb is on its way out and not providing good output.
They'll eventually fail completely. (I've replaced quite a few on cars).
Also, if your lenses are pitted like all of these cars pit...it'll diffuse the light differently and make it look like the bulb isn't producing enough. If that's the case, you can buy replacement lenses on crapbay from China and do a lens swap (the outer lens). It's a PITA.

Hi Mate. I read somewhere that the lights are not set to 13V (their full potential) so thought I could increase mine for more light. I think they are still fairly bright so no need to replace yet. Thanks for the advice though at least now I know.
