HC829214 (2nd hand?)

My Audi a8 has been in for service, now my vcds will not work properly, not sure if there's a connection.
I have a Toshiba on windows 10 with no anti virus, I uninstalled the vcds program then re-installed then plugged into the car as per photo's.
I have looked at other posts and checked the lead all OK the four wires.

I would help if I could post the pics but I have tried to upload them from google drive but they don't appear.

From the main screen of VCDS - go to [Options] then [Test] and tell us what it says. Obviously you need your interface plugged in to the car and your computer.

Thanks for your help with uploading the photos, the pics with nothing in, the led flashes red/green and freezes I had to click done and go back to move on, if it gets to the end, and I try and delete faults the whole thing just starts up again.
I managed to find the driver in device manager and delete and re-start .

OK, now that your pictures show up in the first post....

There's nothing super-obvious that explains what's going on.

I might suggest that the most expedient way to trouble shoot this is by process of elimination. One way would be to find another car to test your VCDS setup in.

Have now been able to test my laptop and lead on another car Seat and it works fine.
So maybe the garage have done something, it was in for a full service.

Check pins in car's diagnostic socket. Maybe a poor connection there?

Checked the car and all seems OK ran another check and nothing has changed.

RHD 4E A8 models have something of a reputation having trim around the OBD-II socket that makes it hard to insert/seat the interface fully. Check that it's fully and firmly in the socket.

Have took the trim panel off and tried again, still the same.
So I thought that I would try disconnecting the battery, and that seem to do the trick.
