I recently had the CEL come on and scan my car and got the fault codes below. I am relatively new to Audi and tried to do as much research as i could but was not able to find much on these codes. i've posted just the fault codes and not the entire scan. please let me know if any of you have had these codes and how you had addressed them. im more interested in the thermostat for transmission fault codes. FYI i have cleared and the CEL has not come on again but when i scan the car i still get the Thermostat for transmission codes and boost pressure codes the others have not showed up again. any help is appreciated!

CEL?? I presume you're referring to MIL - Malfunction Indicator Light, the light that tells you that there is a fault on your car.
A full scan is always required as the exact cause of the fault can sometimes be due to something other than what you would see as obvious.

Generally these cars produce fault codes which can be cleared and they don't return. If the fault remains then someone from the forum would provide guidance on what to do next. On the transmission error it says short to ground, which could be a poor connection due to muck, loose wire, etc.

The MIL has been generated by boost pressure regulation according to the scan.

Hello,

im more interested in the thermostat for transmission fault codes.

The ECM fault code [P19A1-Thermostat for Transmission: Short to GND] is for the [N488- Gearbox Coolant Valve].

It has a shared power from fuse SB7, so if the fuse was bad you would have a lot more short to ground fault codes.

I would make sure the N488-Gearbox Coolant Valve has proper power and a ground signal from the ECM. You can perform the [03-Output Tests] within the [01-Engine] and make sure the N488 clicks on/off during the test.

If not check the resistance of the N488, it should be [20 - 30 ohms], it lloks like the N488 is on top of the transmission, you can check with the Official Factory Repair Information

N488 = Part [4H0-121-671-D] as per VIN

Hope this helps,

drpeter

Thanks for all the help. While trying to test the coolant valve with VCDS the test kept timing out however i didnt hear the click on and off as i did when i tested the bypass turbo valve. i also found an audi TSB regarding the coolant valve. I have a oil change scheduled at audi and see if they will cover this but i doubt it. again thanks for the help and ill post results from dealer tomorrow. see link for TSB below
