Hello everyone! So i have a small problem with my late 2003 Golf MKIV R32 with DSG. I noticed this problem after i tried to do the basic setting/reset of my DQ250 DSG6 gearbox. The gearbox is the 02E modell.
So i was following along all the steps that ross tech has put up on the website to basically do the reset. And it work fine dandy throught all of the steps until i came to group 63. Now group 63 is the reset value for steering wheel paddels.
And when i went into this group and pressed go it started to loading and loading and loading but nothing ever happend so after like 25 min i decided to stop and so i did and went back to basic settings! And then in again to proceed with the last group which is the group 69 well i could not follow through whit this group cuse i got a message that said ERROR and then that the group is not available.
I really dident think much about it and took the car for the test ride or the "adaptation ride" that ross tech suggest that you do. And it went very good the car shifted so smooth so so so smooth and good in all modes D/S +/- and with the paddels.
Now! i was half way on my way home from the garage when i noticed that my PRNDS indicator was flashing like crazy. I dont know how i could not see this earlier but i dident. And i was like hmm that´s wired so i went back to the garage plug my VCDS back in the car and checked for fault codes and this is what came up on my screen.
01087 - Basic Setting Not Performed
005 - No or incorrect Basic settings / Adaptation
01087 - Basic Setting Not Performed
005 - No or incorrect Basic settings / Adaptation
2 of them just like that. Now i have had the car for 5 years and i have never EVER had a problem with the car and surley not one of these flashing PRNDS problems. So i did a little bit of research on the web and found a couple other forums where ppl had have the same fault code ect ect.
Now i strongly believe that these fault codes and due to me aborting the group 63 or that the group 62 was not available or basically could not finish/run is what´s make these codes pop up and make my PRNDS bar flashing. But like i was trying to find something on group 63 on how long it could take to like reset? an hour? or 2 hours? but i could not find anything and really i dont think that the reset of the paddels should take so long. i mean i was sitting with it for 25 min and nothing happend.
So basically my main problem is the PRNDS flashing the gearbox is fine the car shift like it suppose to and shift so smooth and good. And also the mechatronic unit is fine noting wrong with it. And as i was saying the flashing PRNDS started AFTER i tried to do the basic setting whit the VCDS yesterday have had the car for 5 years and not a singel problem whit the dsg or whit the shiftin or anything. So i know that it is this basic setting thingy that made my PRNDS bar flashing.
Sorry for the long message but i felt like i needed to explain it all and my problem is that i cant successfully finish this reset so my PRNDS bar wont stop flashing so now i turn to you guys here on the forum to hopefully shed some light on this problem for me and what i can do to make my PRNDS bar normal again or how i can successfully finish the basic setting.
Best regards.
OH! another thing I can't access the 09-Cent.Elect. Module using VCDS now is this cuse my car is to old or what? just got a message that said not responding i really wanted to do the windows up and down with the keyfob =)
