Hi Ross-tech forum. Although I am using VCDS for a couple of years now this is my first question to you. I am having trouble with the airco of an Audi A6 avant 19tdi from 2002 (C5).
Apparently the airco has been out of order for some years now, I would like to fix it.
First I went to a car centre to remove the oil en gas and let it refill with new one.
The printout of the Waeco Aircon Service mentioned the remaining quantities: 6 ml of oil & 145 grams of coolant. The refill process added 11 ml of oil and 675 grams of coolant.
Unfortunately still no cold air…
I then hooked up my vcds and got a fault in module 08 Auto HVAC: “Fault 01592 – air quality sensor (G238) 37-00 – Faulty” (the airco fan did not run either). Since I have exactly the same sensor in my Audi A8 d3 I switched sensors. After that the error in mod 08 has disappeared and the airco fan is activated. Though, still no cold air ☹ (btw: the airco in my A8 is still doing it after the switch!)
So I saved a recent logfile and took some screenshots of the measuring blocks with the hope some of you specialised in airco can give me a clue where to look.
next thing I would have done is to clean the valves but they are not so easily reachable. So I’d prefer to wait for some input of someone who can read those measuring blocks, tia for your help, Peter
