I was trying to do the throttle body alignment today, and got this message. Can someone please point me in the right direction?

What does VCDS say about the license in the about screen? What version of windows are you running? What type of interface cable?

What kind of car are you working on?

What kind of computer are you running "win 8" on?

I'm stumped. Is everything up-to-date?

I believe so. How would I check to confirm?

Start VCDS. Look on the About screen. What version is it?

Go to [Option] -> [Test] -> [OK], then [Config]. In the Config utility click on the [Update] tab and [Check for Updates].

The current release is VCDS 18.2.1. If you have that installed, Open VCDS, Click Options/Test. It will report back the interface information.

A couple things you can also try:

Windows 8 can also have weird folder permissions. Try reinstalling the software into the my documents folder.

Set PC power settings to high performance.
