2.0 caga timing belt change, synchronous angle

Hi all
Around week ago I've changed timing belt on my 2008 a4 using INA kit(euro) and fleebay timing tools. After 2 hrs struggle to time it up(following haynes manual) I've managed to get slip fit 3 times in a row so I've put it all together and already done 300 miles on it. However only today I've learned about synchronous angle so I've decided to check it. At idle synchronous is 0.54 but it rises to 1.04 at 2600rpm, so my question is what is an acceptable value for synchronous angle? And is it ok to leave it as it is for few months(another job is coming later on this year so I'll have a chance to correct it) or shall I get it timed spot on as soon as possible? Car itself doesn't show any abnormalities it's just me having paranoia probably because it was only my second time doing timing belt (I'm a welder by trade but very mechanically minded).

When you are checking it are you in blocks or basic settings?

What does VCDS report in captions for a specification in the ECU file in blocks?

I've used AMV because MB don't work on my car. I have no idea how to find specified value for synchronous angle or how to access or read ecu file. Proper amature here

Scroll through advanced measuring block's and read for the identifier you seek?

From what I can remember the measuring block's just show what you are looking for with this engine, so with synchronous angle it will only show what is identified and running at, not the specified value which I think Havrannek was looking for (I am sure it is hidden in the ECU somewhere).

I can remember being in the same position as yourself with a CAGA engine, if memory serves me well Jack said at the time a synchronous angle close as possible to 0 is best. I noticed your idle synchronous is 0.54 but rises to 1.04 at 2600rpm, I do not believe this will do any harm as some believe it is better to have it slightly advanced even though it is not at spec, I'm still out on this and think factor spec is better.

Have you had the dreaded VW fix as I see your ECU is running a different software number.

Anyway hope jack can confirm for you the above.

Sorry for late reply but I was working away.
Excacly like you said Sacha35, I know 0 degrees is the best but i was wondering what is the tolerance, I think on non cr's it was -+3 degrees just not sure if it's the same on cr. Anyway I've done close to 600 miles so far and no issue and it feels the same. In around 2 months I'll be correcting the timing I'm just super busy at the moment. Car was recalled in 2016 for a software fix... naughty VW

I don't do a much motorways but my daily commute is 21 miles one way through 30,40,50 and 70 mph roads(kidderminster-redditch). OBC shows avg of 41-44 mpg, calculated is within 36-40 mpg best on motorway was 49,5 mpg. I get between 430-480 miles out of the tank and normally I fill approx 55-56 ltrs. At first i thought its bit poor but now im used to it

Thanks for the info, if possible I would get your ECU rolled back to before the car was recalled, Audi wont do this but there are some places that can, I am not talking about a stage tune just the stock original firmware for the Engine, you can then expect anywhere upto 44-48 town and 56-60 motorway mpg.
I am sure you have done lots of reading on the cheat emissions software fix and the conclusion is cars are failing because of it of which VW are denying, the saying goes if it is not broken don't fix it and what was a good engine is now being broken by VW.

Car was never designed to comport from the start and had issues with ash and soot accumulation even in the nefarious modes.

Rolling software back is not the answer either, nor advised since it is illegal.

Reality is, no one is doing things to correct the problem by adding the needed AECD's and retirement of EGR valves + PCV design!

Not illegal in the UK, it was and is still not mandotory to have the vw fix fail, the engine was never designed to have this software and as such is causing so many problems.

I did wright to Mr Willis stating that the only way VW Audi would get there hands on my car is to fit an addblue system which should have been the case from the start, even though this is not without fault it is far better than the fix fail that are trying to impose.
