Other than a TV Adaption, that is it.... I think............ ( 0x01-04-060 ADP-OK )

If it did have immobilizer for some strange reason than ( 0x17-10-00 SAVE ) done!

My New Used ECU came today!!!! Man that was fast!

I'm still waiting in line for the lift (paying customers get priority...plus I didn't get Elsawin working in time to print up some schematics), but maybe I can get the ECU in and see if different codes come up instead of pulling O2 cables and go around the car testing cables?

So I just pull out the old FOD ECU and connect the new used one? Then I plug in my VCDS cable? If it doesn't read the ECU, I go do a TV Adaption (well go read the post so I can figure out what 0x01-04-060 ADP-OK )? Is that the sequence? I don't turn the car on right? (bitting nails hoping I dont further FOD my car)

Does VCDS have a TV adaption link?

New used ECU is in. Cleared all DTCs and I did the TBA. Turned the car on and it turns on.

Now what do I do? Just drive it around?

Here is the cleared DTCs log. I thought Jack said after clearing the DTCs the readiness should not be zero's but I see zero's again (I have not driven the car yet). I'll drive it in to work in the morning (keeping my fingers crossed I make it all the way there-yikes!) I also have a log right before I pulled the old ECU (that log has some codes I had not seen before concerning the CAT) but maybe I'll just wait to see if they come back on this new used ECU.

PS-sorry it took so long to do this. Life, NBA and FIFA got in the way.

I drove the car to work today...did a scan before going inside. I don't have the full text file but here is the info of the codes that came up. I'm wondering for the ABS part, if I need to program something. Remember I just changed it a couple of months ago with a unit that only had 44K miles on it.

That's because that ECU is with deletes and JUNK!

My new one has deletes also??

Are you sure that's not a VW/Audi thing? I find it hard to believe I would purchase another ECU with deletes.

Yup.........& I don't unless it was new from VAG.
Since it is not, it is suspect FOD and based on your aforementioned information submitted.

Took the car to get smogged after I cleared the codes...and the ECU was not "ready" even though my Ross-Tech showed everything already ready.

Took the car to Audi. They fixed the intermitten O2 reading by changing the connector to the O2. The car still will not boost. So I took it back. After several days, they said they found two pinhole holes in the downpipe and it needed changing. I had them change it. They said the car ran to spec now. Apparently the service manager drove the car, who has the exact same car, and said that it drives to spec just like his. I was super excited!!! I picked up the car and it is not boosting. $3k later and the car is still not boosting :(

I can hear the turbo spooling but it is not boosting like when i got the car. I mean, when this car is boosting..it feels like it is gliding on ice. It is exhilarating to drive. Now, though its still a pretty good driving car..it definitely is not boosting.

I just don't know what to do.

Anyone in the SF Bay willing to help me?

Really? You checked Readiness? Because clearing fault codes sets all the Readiness monitors to "fail" until each of the corresponding tests is run again. This can happen over several driving cycles or it can be nudged along by following a prescribed sequence of Basic Settings.

Sounds like you should call the DMV for the dealer doing a repair that doesn't comport with a qualified repair no?

Yes, not only did I check readiness...i did a scan and according to Jack if the top of the log showed all zeros...which it shouldn't after clearing the codes..then the ECU was tuned and FOD.

I changed the ECU a while back with another one because you guys said the original was FOD. The second came up with the exact same scenario. I found it hard to believe that both ECUs would be FOD. So anyway, I have to smog the car for the sticker. I cleared the codes. I checked readiness...it said good to go.. I then did the scan..it had all the zeros like it was ready too. Took it to get smogged and the guy said it was not ready and failed smog (and he still took my money).

Did you buy it new from dealer if not it's not hard to believe at all now isn't it?

AFTER A DTC RESET!

It'a as simple as this, if you have the above result for any of these monitors set as zero unless an unsupported test & that is impossible to achieve before running any of the AECD DCY tests & before even starting the engine and or immediately after a DTC reset, your car is indeed tampered and FOD!
