Guys if you ever are in the need of a leather holster try https://www.craftholsters.com/
I was looking for new holsters for a pair of old East German Makarovs a couple of years ago and came across that site. I ended up ordering two. They are quite nice and were an excellent value.

You carry two so the chances one of them actually goes off is increased?

Eh? What makes you think Makarovs are in any way unreliable?

With the Marakov being a police weapon for a long time in my native country and in the Eastern Bloc in general, there is a saying about the gun. It goes along the lines of the Marakov being more effective when thrown at the target, rather than being shot.

I've shot one myself and compared to Glocks or SIG-s it didn't leave a lasting impression.

Both of mine are former East German police guns. I bought them relatively cheap about 25 years ago (during Bill Clinton's first term) when things were looking somewhat dire in the US in terms of future availability. I have not shot either one very much, but they have never failed to go BANG when I pulled the trigger. :)

I've heard in the UK, they're now talking about knife control. Do not fear!

Are semi-automatics rifles in common use?

Obviously yes ... unless you are a graboid.
