Anyone following? Many of 'our' countries are represented and doing quite well
I'm Dutch, so I'm mostly following the ice speed skating where I expect all our medals to come from. We don't really have any medals or snow, so you could say we're quite specialized. Once a new ice age will kick in, I'm sure we'll be fine...
So far, so good. 2 gold, 2 silver and a bronze.

Soviet Union - there's a "blast from the past"!!!

With Russia banned, but "Olympic Athletes from Russia" taking part (now there is a classic "fudge") the medal table will look very different this time round.

BTW I don't follow any sport, seems a pointless thing to me :facepalm:

Having attended the 1980 Winter Olympics in person with the mother-of-all VIP free tickets pool to choose from, I cannot get into watching the Olympics on TV. My opening ceremonies seat were row 13 on the center aisle, and Vice President of the USA Mondale had to walk past me (shaking hands of course) to get to his seat in the 51st row. I won't even mention where I was during that silly hockey game.....

Strong winds seem to be causing many outdoor events to be cancelled - did they check the historic weather data before awarding the Winter Games?

These days, the only qualification for hosting the Olympics is being stupid enough to volunteer. It is a *huge* money pit, with nothing left but ruins after billions of dollars spent on the games in even first-world countries. The IOC's mantra in selecting future sites is that beggars can't be choosers.....
