ive tried resetting service due on audi A1 2011, ive tried using vcds and tried resetting inspection with vcds,but it wont reset ........ive reset alot of service indicators on various vag cars,but i have heard this is something only audi can do,is there another way?

I'm confident it can be done with VCDS.
If I had to venture a guess, it's one of the Inspection channels that's at issue here, either the time-based one or the mileage-based one.

yes all upto date,unfortunatley the car is my sisters ,she lives quite away so cant get a scan or anything for a few weeks.

Probably because resetting "Inspection" is a separate action from resetting "Service" but either one will trigger the "Service Now" notification in the instrument cluster.
BTW, if you've ever done an Auto-Scan on this car (and I would hope you have), there should be a copy of that scan in the Scans sub-folder of your VCDS folder.

Yes, Scans sub-folder. Look in your Ross-Tech VCDS folder. You should have sub folder called Scans.

ive luckily had scans on my laptop saved.................as for sub folder/vcds folder..........im not clued up guys,i cant find anyting in vcsd ....does it auto save it or something?
The VCDS folder is typically:

Anytime you do an Auto-Scan, VCDS surreptitiously saves it in the Scans sub-folder, so:

Have a look at the following Adaptation channels:
IDE03349 -- FIX: Max. distance until next mileage-related inspection
IDE03351 -- FIX: Distance covered since last mileage-dependent inspection
IDE03350 -- FIX: Maximum time until next time-dependent inspection
IDE03352 -- FIX: Time since last time-dependent inspection
If "since" is greater than "until" in either of these pairs, the cluster will ask for service.
