Hello,
I have a 2005 VW TDI that I'm looking to get back into good running condition.

Car is all stock. I do have a Kerma TDI Q loader that I have used in the past but the ecu is currently not flashed. I will say that I did have a problem with flashing it a while back and had to send in my ecu for Kerma to fix.

The three engine codes:
MAF:
I believe I have a vacuum leak around the intercooler and I was going to address that first but figured it would be best to post to the forum first. I have already replaced the MAF in an attempt to fix this code and when that didn't fix it I thought it was time to buy the VCDS so I would quit "throwing parts" at it. The fuel filter was replaced by a shop some time back.

Camshaft Position Sensor:
I changed the timing belt at around 100k so it is coming up on being due again. So I suspect this might be related since sometimes it takes longer than others to start (sometimes it's immediate, other times takes a second or two longer) and most times there is black smoke on start up. But it idles perfectly and runs great. There is hesitation at times and I think this is due to the vacuum leak. Also of note is when I clear the fault codes the check engine light comes on immediately when I start it back up.

Turbocharger Boost Control Position Sensor Circuit:
The Wiki recommends "When found in VW 2.0L PD TDI with engine codes BRM and BEW see measuring block 043.2 for G500 readings." Mine is the 1.9L PD TDI BEW. Being new to VCDS I'm not sure how to check for this. I believe I found the right window that reads measuring block but I'm not sure how to get to 043.2 for the G500.

Company Data Bus for Comfort System:
This was found for three different control modules so I thought it might be due to me checking it during cold temperatures. But after I cleared them and ran the scan again in warmer temps, ~50 degrees F, The same codes popped up again.

So.... Any help is much appreciated. I assume my first order of business is fixing the vacuum leak. If there are any useful posts as to how to best address this that would be nice. I also would like some advice on how to see the measuring black for the 043.2 for the G500 sensor. If I don't get the 0% when engine not running and 100% when it is as the wiki says, what does that mean??
Any guesses for the Company Data Bus for Comfort System? Everything electronically works just fine as far as I can tell.
This is my first post and I tried to follow "Jacks Professional Problem Solver Guide" as closely as possible.

Change battery and check charging system first........

Verify cam belt timing.

Inspect under VC for damaged cams or lifters.......

Provided the correct tools and factory procedure was followed for the timing belt, and the wiring harness for the G40 are good, I suspect you've got a flaky G40 sensor. When they start crapping out, it can cause extended cranking because it takes the ECM longer to figure out which cylinder is where....

Key On, Engine Off (KOEO) MVB 043.2 should be 0%
Key On, Engine Run (KOER) MVB should be 100%

The battery is newer and I never have a problem with slow cranking or anything else so I didn't replace it but I can check the alternator if you still think it might be an issue. I checked the cam timing following the instructions in the my turbo diesel wiki and the torsion value is 0 and the idle stabilization through injection quantity was well within optimal range so I am thinking that it is indeed a faulty sensor??
Thanks for clarifying the 043.2 mystery Jef! I read it with the car running and it was 95.5%. unfortunately my computer screen died before I could read it while not running.

I know I still need to address the boost leak and will soon. Any other thoughts?
