Software and Interfaces for 1996 A6 C4?

Please advise what software and interfaces i need for the following Audi

1996 A6 C4 (4A Chassis) 2.6V6 (Australian Model)

VIN WAUZZZ4AZTN112157

Please advise even if required software/interfaces are out of production

Any help really appreciated

Both our current interfaces are "universal" (compatible with all diagnostic-capable VW/Audi).

The only catch with your car is: Does it have a 16-pin OBD-II connector or does it still have the old black and white "2x2" described at the bottom of the above-linked page?

More info. Mine has the 2x2 connector and the Hella / Audi ECM 4AO 907 473 H Apparently this vehicle is OBD1

So will your software work with this and the 2x2 adaptor plus the wired interface?

In principle, it should, although to be honest, it's been a while since we've tested it on anything quite that old.

Hi Uwe,
I am about to purchase the $199 version of the software and cable. What do I do about the 2x2 connector/adaptor - can this be purchased from you?
Does this run fine under Windows 10? I am purchasing a second hand laptop and it has Win10 installed already. Its a dual core 7 year old compaq. I would prefer win7 as that is what i am familiar with but only using it for VCDS so would settle for Win10 if VCDS runs fine.

Personally, if I only wanted VCDS to work on my own car that had the old 2x2 connectors, I would not buy the 2x2 adapter. Instead, I would get a 16-pin OBD-II style socket, perhaps from a salvage yard) and wire it up in parallel to the 2x2 connectors.
