7-Speed S-Tronic Direct-Shift Gearbox (DSG/0B5) calibration

Hi there... I am trying to follow this procedure (http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/7-Speed_S-Tronic_Direct-Shift_Gearbox_(DSG/0B5)), but it fails in step one "Erase counter for start and stop processes" with "error, request out of range"

Any suggestions?

OK. As I read through the forum and S-tronic related topics, I notice that most threads just keep hanging without any answer to their problems.
Are not VCDS able to perform the Clutch valve calibration and the Distance sensor calibration on the DSG/0B5 gearbox?
I really need to solve this...

I never got it to work

With ODIS it goes fine but VCDS is not able to perform the calibration, it always just hangs in the initial step and nothing happens.

That's not good... I thought VCDS was the ultimate tool for this...
Where can I obtain ODIS? Do I need a new OBD adapter and the SW?
Will this product do the trick?

Not sure. The fact that we have a Wiki page for it indicates it has worked for at least some people on some of these transmissions.

Why are you doing the basic setting calibrations if there are no errors?
Are all conditions met for doing or needing a calibration, because if they are not than it won't commence?

Well, I have som issues with going from R to D, it is like the transmission is lagging for 0.2 s before it works again. Happens now and then. Also, sometimes when in reverse, I get a smell from the clutch. I would like to perform the calibration in order to rule out any issues with the clutch. In my opinion it is a good start, but I am far from an expert on this DSG/S-tronic... Nice link...

If you smell clutch, you need a clutch with this POS trans & maybe a mech or accumulation of particulate contamination & which need remediation ! :rolleyes:

I have seen more DSG's destroyed than helped & is only temporary if it does help, now wouldn't it be?
Don't believe everything you read on the net, most of the time there is an agenda to pick your pocket.

When tolerances are warn on the clutch, the slave actuators indeed must now push further and this in end pops fluid as a result, almost seems deliberate right?
