A common question I ask pretty much every day:

Sooooooo...... where did you get that part from?

So here is today's version of that question.

Model Audi Q7 qu. 3.0
AQ7
Date of production 31.08.2010
Year 2011
Sales type 4LB5ZA
Engine Code CJWC

16400/P0016/000022 - Bank 1: Camshaft Position Sensor (G40) / Engine Speed Sensor (G28): Incorrect Correlation
16396/P0012/000018 - Bank 1: Camshaft A (Intake): Advance Setpoint not Reached (Over-Retarded)
P0017/000023 - Bank 1: CMP Sensor 3 (G300) / Engine Speed Sens (G28): Incorrect Correlation
P052C/001324 - Camshaft Adj. Bank 2 Intake: Cold-Start Timing not Reached

New chains, guides, adjusters and such installed. Everything except the chains were from the Audi dealer. Keeps getting cam/crank fault codes. Has gone back and checked the timing twice, everything lines up. Once I found out the chains didn't come from the dealer I used PL24 to see what chains it should take:

  • 06E109465
  • 06E109465AT
  • 06E109465BC
  • 06E109465AS

It would seem that instead of 06E109465BC he got 06E109465AM. The 06E109465AM chain is for a 4.2L V8 engine. The chains are between the engine and trans so this isn't a quick fix.

Next call 3 minutes later, same type of engine with the same type of problems... sooooo.... where did you get those parts from? He wasn't sure... so I have him the same part numbers and he is going to double check.

I should note that the first person said the engine was clean, no oil sludge issues where as the second person implied the engine was a bit sludged up on top of the other issues is has.

IDK Jef I think the AFT has verified that the lengths of these two chains are the same with coverage for both size engines & even others according to Febi, SWAG and IWIS

I bet these cars are out of time.......... either way its a sad panda......... :banghead:

Just an FYI for anyone

This could also be a factor of no or insufficient oil PSI volume/regulation.............
