MK6 2014 GTI, able to set Comfort Blinks to 2, but not 1? (valid range: 1..5)

I've got a 2014 GTI and want to change the "comfort blink" (aka, "Comfort Turn Signal Cycles")
to a value of 1. It's currently set to 3.

Using VCDS, I'm able to set it to 2, but not to 1.
Whenever I enter 1 in the "New Value" box, VCDS grays out (disables) the "Save" button..

VCDS on my car reports that valid range is 1->5, so it should take 1.
(This range agrees with other online docs)

    I'm following these instructions: http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/a...-signal-vw.htm

Any suggestions on how I can get my car to accept a value of 1 for "comfort blink"?
    Thanks in advance!

Additional info: I expected my change (switching Comfort Blinks from 3 --> 2) to have
resulted in a change in the VCDS long coding for Address 09: Cent. Elect. (J519) ",
however the long coding (before the change, and after the change) is identical:
    Coding: 6F180A1A90252AC4008800C17000054448010386434D8D6064 8020200040

Comfort blinks changes an Adaptation channel not the Coding string, hence why there is no change to the Coding - the instructions you link to show the is an Adaptation change

Thanks for the quick reply PetrolDave, much appreciated!

Q#1/2) are Adaptation parms in the VCDS Autoscan output? I did an Autoscan before and after making the change, and the Autoscan output was identical (other than the timestamp in the header).

Q#2/2) more importantly, do you know of a way I can get VCDS to let me write a value of 1 to the Comfort blink Adaptation channel? When I enter 1 into the "New value" TextEdit box, the "Save" button goes grey, which prevents that value from taking effect.

    Thanks in advance,

I wish there would be the possibility to automatically save adaption channel maps along the Auto-Scan, but there isn‘t

When you want to set comfort blinking to 1 you are essentially disabling it. So I would recommend (since value 1 seems implausible) to just disable comfort blinking alltogether. This should be possible via coding in the BCM.

Thanks for the info TBAx, much appreciated. Your suggestion gave me something else to google for and eventually I came across a thread which suggested that Comfort blinks might be defeatable via the MFD (ie, by changing the car settings from the console display w/o even using VCDS).

Lo and behold, it's actually true. In my case, it's under: Settings | Convenience | Lights & Vision | Conv. turn sig.

There was a checkbox beside "Conv. turn sig.", and when I unchecked it, it accomplished what I wanted: set the "Comfort blink" to 1. Nice! Now I don't look as much like an idiot when I signal, then cancel the signal (due to someone else grabbing the lane, usually). Before (with default settings), there was no way to cancel the turn signal w/o having it signal 3 blinks in the opposite direction.

Thanks again for all your help folks, I'm a happy camper now.
