I don't seem to get the response as shown on your how to video.
I select modules.

I don't see a BEM (Battery Energy Manager) in those scans.

So if the car needs a new battery, just install the new battery; there's nothing to be done with VCDS.

I am surprised there is not one though, I have not read that there may not be one and does that mean that I can not fit an AGM battery as I am unable to set the parameters for it?
I have had constant flat battery problems with this car and was wondering if an AGM would help.

I've used AGM batteries in cars that had no special provision for them and had zero problems.

A constant flat battery problem is due to one of two things: Either the charging system (alternator) is not charging the battery properly, or the there is an excessive drain when the ignition is off.

Get something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009L4Z3EO

That will give you a decent indication whether your charging system is OK. You should see 13.8V or more with engine running above idle. Closer to 13.0V is OK at idle. If that's OK, then start looking for a drain with the car off. See here.

I fitted an AGM battery to my previous Audi B7 RS4 (which had no battery management), no problems and actually starting was easier due to the higher CCA rating of the AGM battery.

That amazon item is the exact one I bought two years ago.
Charging is always fine at 14.2
It really only helps me by telling me the voltage in the morning which alerts me it is not going to start lol

I will read more about searching for parasitic drains but unfortunately the drain happens frequently but not constantly for a few days and then not for a week or two.
I would have to be lucky to be testing when the problem is there (and have the free time at that point)
I am leaning towards removing fuses for an extended period to try and locate it.
Also oddly disconnecting the battery for just a few minutes seems to cure whatever does it. which would make you think there was some kind of battery management module faulty.

thank you for the help and those fuse charts could be very useful, is there a table of what current drain my car should have for what period and when?
