Before I start tearing the kessy apart again I wanted to ask if this code was legitimately due to incorrect PIN or another error. I purchased a 2005 A8L W12 a couple of weeks ago that has been sitting for 3yrs due to minor frontend damage (hit a coyote) and I want to use the motor in another project but I'd like to get it up and running before tearing the car apart. The guy lost the keys so I purchased some 3rd party software, removed the 93c86 chip from the kessy, read the pin using the software (53754) and programmed a new PCF7936 transponder chip. I put everything back together, installed in the car and tried logging in through "security access" but I get the "Controller refused the key!" error. My lock out timers are all at zero in measuring block 24 even after failed login. I'm just wondering if I screwed something up possibly on the kessy module when I reflowed the chip. everything looks good though. I'm trying to avoid a dealer visit just to get the car running so I can tear it apart and I'm not sure if they'll do anything to the car with the shape it is in and I haven't transferred the title to my name (notarized and signed over to me) mainly because it was going to scrap after I stripped it down and sold off any good bits.

problem solved!!! I thought that I re-wrote to the eeprom after programming the transponder but I didn't.. dumbass mistake on my part. took the chip out this morning and read the dump, compared to the original dump and nothing was different. wrote the new file to the eeprom and adapted keys. need to work on this stuff after my morning coffee. car is running now and purrs like a kitten. best $1000.00 i ever spent. it's a shame I'm going to tear it apart.
