I just upgraded the fog lights to LED bulbs and I keep getting the message for a burnt fog light bulb on the instrument cluster. Any idea how to get rid of this message?

Please post an Auto-Scan so people can see how the vehicle is equipped and configured.

My guess is: No, it's not smart enough to support LED bulbs in the fogs.

PS: Moving to from General VW/Audi Repair to Retrofits.

Hi

Please post an autoscan as UWE stated. There are 2 ways to combat this issue, 1: you can recode your module if your module supports LED's. 2: Fit a CAN filter on each bulb.
Either way an autoscan will help

Deactivating the bulb diagnostics via Unit 46 should be a possible solution.

EDIT: Oh, it's about front fog lights. Forget about my statement.

offtopic but i've always been amused by people calling light bulbs 'canbus compatible' or 'canbus resistors'. There is not a single light bulb directly connected to the canbus. The canbus wires are data carriers on low power, low voltage, thin wires. Lights are several amps of power, ran by relays and computers....

Agreed Iichel. But it's what sells so you get descriptions according to common understanding or branding. E.g people call vacuum cleaners Hoovers, a bulb is a bulb irrespective of whether it's LED, Halogen, CFL, etc.
People here in the UK call an OBD connector a plug! LOL
