Ok, thanks for clarifying this
The posts are a LITTLE bit confusing for sure
This was the most confusing part :
Hi Don
Thank you for the coding. I've already coded the camera using the same coding. I double checked all of my wiring and found that I had put 2 wires the wrong way around on the left mirror for the blind spot assist, however, this doesn't seemed to have made much difference. I can now clear all faults and lane assist works perfectly but blind spot doesn't. The main problem is still the same, in that as soon as I turn the car off and back on it says Lane Assist Error and it stops working.
What it has allowed me to do now is select blind spot assist and rear traffic detection using the stork on the MFD, however, when I put the car into reverse gear it says they are not available and it knocks them off.
Im suspecting that the problems I am facing may be interrelated. On the infotainment unit I have a menu option for side assist but I cannot select it. Someone suggested that I should try a 3rd party calibration company for the A5 camera and change the rear sensors for the blind spot but I'm not convinced. Anyway, here is the latest auto-scan:
What I understood is that there's some retrofit done to blind spot assist as well?
I think there's also some mixing of terms as :
Lane assist = 2 different types 1. keeps the car between lane lines, 2. warns the driver if the car is getting out from the lane. Uses only camera for these
Lane change assist = camera + blind spot detection. Warns the driver if he/she is changing the lane and there's a car in the blind spot. Does this by stiffening the steering and vibrating it. Also gives steering support to steer in right direction
Blind spot assist = Radar + indicators on side mirrors. Warns visually if there's a car in the blind spot
CTA = Cross traffic alert. Used BSA to warn driver when backing out from car park for example. Visual and audio warning.
So Lane assist = camera only
lane change assist = camera + radar
CTA = and parking sensors
