What is the brightness value of the DRL leuchte adaptation channel? I think it was dimwert cd or something like that. It needs to be 127 with led lights. Otherwise happens what you just described.

I'm not sure which channel you're talking about. Are these the ones ?

- Leuchte5 TFL RB6-Dimming_AB_5 > 100
- Leuchte4 TFL LB43-Dimming_AB_4 > 100

==== LATER EDIT
Changed both these channels, as well as the parking lights dimming value to 127, same thing happens. Thing is ... I still get the "open or short to plus" errors for DRL and parking light bulbs... guess it is because of this, not working correctly ? As obviously, they are not shorted out, given it starts "blinks" for a second there.

It's very annoying I cannot pull out the full admap. Tomorrow I'll spend some time to manually pull out all the related fields to light settings. Think it's easier for everyone this way.

Looks like the tail lights are now also going on PWM?
I think you'd best go to someone with a 6C with OEM Xenon (i.e. Polo Bluemotion 6C, Polo GT 6C) and make an adapmap.
I once obtained a kessy adapmap by making a testdrive in a Beetle from a dealer, ran it through VCDS and returned it.

If you fast forward to the end, you'll see it's just my girlfriend rotating the switch on and off ( side lights, off, side lights off ) for you guys to see how the DRL only blinks once, when ignition ON + going from 0 to Side lights in the light switch.

I also thought of looking for someone with Xenon on a 6C ... just don't know where to start looking ..

Ok so after all this time, I have finally managed to figure out why my DRL wasn't working :banghead:

Standlicht aktiviert zusaetzlich Tagfahrlicht --> from not active to active
Tagfahrlicht Aktivierung durch BAP oder Bedienfolge moeglich --> from not active --> active

Anyway, I still have some issues, though I guess they are just software related.
As I remember it, every time I had ignition ON, DRLs were lit up no matter what, while now, LEDs only light up when the light-switch is set to parking lights.
So, I guess there is maybe an issue with the DRL terminal in the headlight connector ( very unlikely ) or, there has to be some setting I can do ( like the adaptation channels above ) regarding the DRL channels.

So , I've got a few questions:

1. Any tips on having the DRL LEDs stay ON when the low beams are active ? ( they are shutting down when switching from parking lights to xenon )

2. How to make DRL LED dim to 28% ( OEM ) while blinking ? ( doesn't dim at all now )

3. How to get rid of the errors in the cluster regarding DRL and Side-Lights ( cleared DTCs, but they keep on coming, even though sidelights work fine, as DRLs now )

Here's the adaptation channels of VLB22, VRB35 and LB43, RB6

Also, here's a Seat ( kindly referenced by @downtime ) in case you want to see the full adaptation: http://forums.ross-tech.com/showthr...-TDI-DSG7-(CUSB)&p=99974&viewfull=1#post99974

Can you pull adamap from your own central electronics module? I think the problem now is that some of the light functions are not how they should be. For DRLs the light functions A B C need to be set as in the Seat's adamap. This is because the DRL modules need to work in multiple functions if you want them as parking lights as well.

Hei buddy!

My BCM is a bit ... stupid ( has some issue, does not know it's own part number ) so VCDS is not able to map it, though I'm able to read / change any value ( manually ).
So ... it's really not handy to fetch ~1800 channels manually ...

But if I understood you correctly, just so you know, the adaptation values posted above, are currently mine. Just referenced your seat post for anyone who wants to get an idea how Polo's BCM slots work.

What light channel do you want, aside the ones currently posted, VRB36 -- VLB22 ( parking lights ), LB44 -- RB6 ( LED module for DRL ) ?
I'll gladly fetch them all manually :D just need to be specific on the "leuchte set".

EDIT:
They already work as parking lights. Unfortunately, that being the only time they light up hehe.
I'm interested in getting them to work when switching to low beam ( on light switch ), and secondly, need them working as they used to when they were in the bumper, as halogen ... after switching ON the ignition.

I can pull up my wife's Leon's BCM adamap tomorrow. It is different BCM of course than Polo, but it might give some general idea.

Our Leon has full-led lights with LED DRL on headlight and not separately.

Thanks!

Car came with cornering and DRL in front bumper, so I bought the new Xenon headlights, which have cornering and DRL directly inside.
Therefore I moved the cornering as well as the DRL to the headlight, and configured the DRLs to work as LEDs rather than the old halogen bulbs.

While I think they are configured correctly ( as per seat ibiza admap above ), the DRLs in the headlights don't light up at all, unless switching to parking lights.

I'm pretty sure it's some adaptation issue, just have to find out how to configure the "Daytime Running Lights" function to work properly, as it doesn't seem to do anything, given only "parking lights" have an effect on the LEDs.

Either way, if I could keep them open when switching from parking lights to low beam, I'm fine with that as well hehe.

Could you also provide a latest autoscan here? BCM coding interests me as well.

God! I finally managed to fix it :) ! Thanks downtime for that Ibiza reference!

Code:
ENG124867-ENG115110-Leuchte6ABL LB44-Type_Of_Load_6, Low Beam 	--> Xenon Abblendlicht
ENG124868-ENG115129-Leuchte7ABL RB5-Type_Of_Load_7,Low Beam --Xenon Abblendlicht

These adaptation channels had to be changed in order for the DRL to light up, don't know why, I guess the BCM is made to run DRL on LEDs only on Xenon beams, not sure.

Given the above, I have managed to get the DRL to DIM while blinking, changing the following:
Code:
ENG124863-ENG115063-Leuchte2SL VLB22-Light_Function_F_2,not active --> Blinken Links Dunkelphase
ENG124864-ENG115082-Leuchte3SL VRB36-Light_Function_F_3,not active --> Blinken Rechts Dunkelphase

Here's a video of it working ( so darn excited  after all these months struggling to get it working ... )

There is one problem though, my low beam is on even with the light switched off ( only started happening after doing ad-map changes, so I'll go through those again ),
and secondly, the DRL doesn't light up when light switch is off. The configuration is exactly as per the Ibiza reference above. I'll fiddle with that and see what can I do.

On a side note, I was wondering if I could link the interior light to the DRLs ( as Coming / Leaving Home ), I mean, since my BCM does not support a rain-light sensor ( given the "RLS" channels in the adaptation map are marked as "channel not available" ), I had this idea on linking it to that function ... but hm, I can't seem to figure out what to choose or even if it works.

Any idea ? ( as a reference, the adaptation channel can be found in the previous page, on that Ibiza post link )

Thanks for all the great help !

Good going!

Low beam on, check the adamaps again as you already wrote. Most likely low beams as now set as DRLs as well.

Ahh downtime you’re a god :) didn’t think of that but it acually makes sense because it’s the DRL that should be on all the time, rathet than the low beams.

I’ll give it another go these days.

Any idea on that interior light function connected to the DRLs as a replacement for “Coming / Leaving home ?
Given that those lights turn on when leaving the car or unlocking it, it’d be a good enough replacement for me.
I’ll try upgrade the BCM to get to use the RLS, but I need to get to a VW dealer and get that Component Protection sorted.

Found this on an MK7: https://youtube.com/watch?v=MvZq38L4rNQ

Do you actually have RLS installed in the car? You can enable CH/LH but their functionality will be very limited if RLS is absent.

Older platforms it was enough to enable ch/lh and keep the light switch lights on position. But newer PQ35 and MQB does not seem to work that way. Also PQ25 (Polo/Ibiza) probably same way.

Chinese sell a gadget which you can install to have correct functionality. I would buy that.

Yeah, initially, I bought the chinese stuff, not having enough knowledge or tools for DIYs.
Afterwarda, I went on and bought an auto light switch with ch/lh ( PN from ifinterface ), made some wiring and bought the RLS sensor which I finally installed and coded.

Problem was BCM reported no communication or implausible signal, so I guessed it’s a faulty sensor. Went on, spent 150E on a brand new one, same stuff. This is wherenit got dissapointing.

From there on though, yesterday was when I relised there are some RLS related adaptation channels, at the end of the list.
While in the Seat and a GTI 6C the RLS channels seem to be there, mine shows “Channel not available”.

Hence, I realised that my BCM does not support it, and bought another BCM, this time with newer aoftware.

Ibiza has 6C0 937 089 C, ehile the GTI has the same, ending with B and I have the simple version.
Went on and bought a B, now I bumped into “Component Protection”.

Need to get to a VW dealer and get that sorted so the RLS works as well.

Quite some work for a damn RLS huh ?
Thats why i asked about this kind of workaround as Ive seen it in some MK7s.

I think you mean this:

s-l500.jpg

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AUTO-Hea...544880?hash=item25c4ae43b0:g:ikkAAOSwmLlX5AYM

The light sensor plugs into the rear of the rotary light switch and it is positioned on the dash ledge (sticky backing). I have one of these fitted to my test-bench - it works OK.

Thanks DV52, I mean exactly that.

I've also read that the device works just fine for the purpose. Of course not like RLS light sensor but close enough and does the job.

Fitting RLS require changing the windscreen so personally I would not bother if the windscreen in place is in good shape. In swap there's always a risk that the seal does not fit properly and there's a leak somewhere. Nothing is more horrifying though than a dried piss spot on the headliner :)

Hey guys!

That is exactly what I have bought, but, I can’t figure out how to get it to work with LH, did you get any user manual or something because mine didn’t come with any.

EDIT:
Found your post on OBDEleven few moments ago, but still, I can't really make much sense out of it. http://i.imgur.com/jJiXJdk.jpg

So to configure leaving home:
1. Set it to AUTO
2. Ignition OFF ( maybe remove key from ignition switch ? )
3. Switch from AUTO to 0 then AUTO then 0 again, then back to AUTO and it should make a sound, and the parking light should light up.
4. If you switch it back to 0 within 5 seconds, the LH function will be disabled, otherwise it will count the time you took ( preferably after 10s ) to switch it back and use it as an LH timer.

Also, you have to do the AUTO-0 steps in less then 1.5s otherwise you'll have to take it from the beginning.
Since CH can be configured manually via flashing once and opening the door, and LH would theoretically work with this product, I wont need a BCM upgrade anymore. That would be nice :)

This is what I understand from that picture. I'll try it in a few on my car, and come back with the results.
