Howdy,

Do you have a product that can disable the automatic stop/start of both a Mk 7.5 Golf R as well as a 2017 Porsche Macan?

I would be surprised if anything we have could do that on a Porsche because we have no Porsche-specific data in VCDS.

As for the Mk 7.5 Golf R, I would guess it can be done, but we (Ross-Tech) are reluctant provide instructions for disabling "features" that are an integral part of a car's emissions and fuel economy certification. Of course that doesn't mean that users won't figure out a way...

^^^ generik: With the admission that this has nothing at all to do with anything that can remotely be connected to Ross-Tech, you might look HERE, or HERE (for the Golf - not the Porsche)

Don

PS and as quid-pro-quo, if you ever make a set of controller channel maps for the mk7.5, I'd welcome a copy please

I actually think VCDS might talk to the Macan, or at least I hope it does. Durametric doesn't talk to a Macan beyond 2015.

I might plug mine in and see if smoke comes out of anything.

Yes go ahead, it does fine, but many rod files are missing.

You can add this line to MyAutoScan.txt
95,Porsche Macan test (2014>),01,02,03,06,08,09,10,15,16,17,18,19,22,34,36,40,42,44,46,47,51,52,53,55,5F,61,62,65,69,6D,72,AC

or use XX-All Addresses" at the bottom of Autoscan list.

Emissions and Fuel economy certification?
I'd call it wear and tear feature.
OP, I'd suggest to obtain a hardware start/stop disable controller. This setup works best because you can either disable it, or keep enabled or enter "Stealth" mode (when visiting dealership for warranty work). In addition to that, it requires no coding to trick the systems and won't cause any warnings or fault codes - everything operates as normally it would.

I agree. But that doesn't absolve us of liability if we provide explicit instructions.
