Adaptation
Set channel

to the value 0. (should be 5 before).

Done.

Sportmotor's post (#10) worked for my 2017 A6 3.0. Very straightforward using HEX+CAN adaptor and VCDS Release 17.8.0

I see start/stop features everywhere! It's present in a lot of modules. I wonder if the answer to this problem would be to disable s/s in every possible locations all at once. the car seems to resync between modules upon turning ignition ON. if all modules except one say s/s enabled, it seems the disabled module will fall back to this enabled value instead.

I have a customer with an S5 who would love to see it GONE!

not the same car, not the same architecture. those were easy.

That's what we did to his car, but it's just a patch, if you turn the climate controls off altogether it will still stop (and apparently do funky things too)
