    Confusing stuff. Could be that T52a/11 is connected to pin 6 on the 10 pin halogen harness and the adapter just pass that through to pin 6 on the 14 pin xenon side as well. I'm not too concerned about this. Seems that most guides agrees this is the correct wiring.

    Sure, please do.

    This is more or less how it is wired, with a couple of exceptions suggested by m87a:
    - T14/4 --> T10/1 (power)
    - T14/7 --> T10/3 (ground)
    - T14/12 --> T10/8 (DRL, used pin 8 instead of pin 4)
    - No wires from leveling sensor, uses CAN bus

    both are correct but please don't mix pq35 and pq45
    golf, tiguan have pin4 in 10 pin halogen connector, passat doesn't have pin4, hence to use pin8 since it would just be left unused, no need to route extra wires

    Ok, so here's the diagrams for 2011 Passat Variant both Halogen and Gas discharge bulbs.

    I think this should help with the connections.

    So today I completed the install of the xenon headlights. Some things has gone better than I feared and some things not as well as I had hoped...

    1. The driver side headlamp is not creating a beam of light in front of the car. The light seems scattered and less intense compared to the other bulb. I have tried to auto adjust with basic settings in VCDS and also manual adjustment via the adjustments screws, but it seems I cannot get it to properly light up the space in front of the car. I found two white M6 adjustment screws on top of the headlight, are there more than these? What could be causing this?

    2. I did follow m87a's list of bits to tick and currently I do not have high beams. Note that I have the most recent version of VCDS, but there are no checkboxes for byte 17 bit 2 and byte 25 bit 2. I determined the hex for byte 17 and 25 with those bits enabled, manually entered it and the coding was accepted.

    3. The best overall behavior for the lights would be this:
    - Headlight LEDs always active (currently only active on high beam)
    - Daytime: Bumper lights active, xenon inactive
    - Night: Xenon active, bumper lights inactive

    Is this possible? Alternatively; always use LEDs + xenons and never bumper lights.

    4. I got coding rejected: out of range error for headlight range controller, byte 4, bit 6: Dynamic Light Assist (DLA) installed. Why is that? Other than that the coding of the AFS went fine, no error messages and the light assist seems to be working still.

    Doesn't DLA also need the camera on the windscreen? Also I think the headlight are a bit different with the DLA. The masking thingy is different inside the projector.
    Normal HBA is possible but that also needs the camera behind the auto dimming mirror.

    With xenons I don't think that the bumper DRLs are used anymore. The LED strips on the headlight itself are used as DRLs and the bumper lights are disconnected.

    How they should work :

    Light switch position :
    0 - only led strips light up on the headlights
    auto - led strips burn at 100% during day and when dark enough headlights and rear lights turned on and led strips dim to 50%
    park - led strips dim down to 50% and rear lights are turned on
    driving lights - led strips dim down to 50% and headlights turned on. Rear lights also on.

    I've never seen Passat with bumper drls and xenon headlights.

    What comes to the light intensity. Check that the xenon bulb is seated properly inside the projector. Also did you buy new xenon bulbs or were these already installed in the headlight housings when you bought them?

    - Headlight LEDs always active (currently only active on high beam)
    you probably replaced pins 11 and 12, this will cause for your high beams solenoid to be always active which would could explain weird right headlight beam. meaning when you pull stalk instead of activating high beam you activate led drl
    for lights behaviour downtime explained in previous post

    I got both headlights complete with bulbs and control units (cornering light + gas discarge lamp) for $500! I though that was a good price so I decided to do the swap. Anyway, I checked and it turns out the left bulb was in deed not correctly seated. I will try to adjust them tonight when it gets dark. Hopefully the beam is brighter and more concentrated now

    If DLA is auto dipping of high beam with oncoming traffic that is what I had with the halogens so camera etc. is in place, but I did check ETKA and I believe you are right. The new headlights are for PR-8IM (cornering light and headlight range ctrl) and I would need headlights for PR-8IP to get dynamic main beam light as well. I guess that means no more auto dipping of the high beam

    The reason I asked was because on my previous car (2005 Golf) I had this setup: Parking lights + bumper lights at daytime and xenons at night and I liked that. I'm not sure if LEDs only during daytime is legal here, but other than that the setup you are proposing is much better than what I currently have:

    0 - no lights at all
    auto with low beam - headlight low beam only
    auto with high beam - headlight low beam + LEDs (no high beam)

    Also when I use the turn signal the bumper DRL on the same side lits up?

    I checked for continuity again to make sure. The wiring for the adapter is:

    T14/1 -> AFS
    T14/2 -> AFS
    T14/4 -> T10/1
    T14/5 -> T10/5
    T14/6 -> T10/6
    T14/7 -> T10/3
    T14/9 -> T10/9
    T14/10 -> T10/10
    T14/11 -> BCM T52c (48 left, 49 right)
    T14/12 - T10/8

    Correct?

    yes it's correct
    what did you do for coding?
    do you have any dtc and how lights function?

    As of right now the only coding changes made is the ones that you suggested in your previous post and now there are no DTC's. Yesterday I tried a few different things to get the LEDs working without success, but with that coding the high beams did work, but also created DTC's each time I activated them:

    Ok, just tested again now. If I use your exact coding suggestions, including manually entering byte 17 with bit 2 enabled and byte 25 with bit 2 enabled there are no DTC's, only low beams without LEDs. When I push the stalk for high beams the LEDs are lit, but still no high beams.

    If I just use the long coding helper for byte 17 and byte 25 (leaving bit 2 disabled since it doesn't appear on the helper) then the behavior is the same, but when I push the stalk for high beams I can hear a sound (like a relay clicking loud) and the above DTC's are created. Please disregard my statement in the previous post, I don't think I actually had high beams working yesterday.

    Regardless I am unable to get the LEDs to function normally and there is no high beam. I tried lots of different options in the long coding helper for 09 Central Electrics. Maybe 65 is not the correct master scheme for my car?
