The B9 S4/S5's are still very new to the US but has anyone had any luck controlling the two exhaust valves with VCDS? I'd like to try to code (or adapt) them to be open all the time. Here's a link to the auto scan and I'll post a controller (block) map here in a minute. One thing that may be of some help PID IDE03816-ENG129421 - Exhaust flap bank 1 -Test_Program Channel it toggles between 136 (valves closed) and 135 (valves open) depending on the mode (comfort/dynamic).

A quick way of changing the engine/suspension/steering settings without changing the coding is to personalize the Drive select,
this can be done by selecting individual in the 'drive select' options.
You should be able to select engine and choose between 3 options Comfort, Auto and Dynamic,
with Dynamic selected the exhaust valves should stay open for as long as 'individual' is selected.

Thanks for the advice, I've been using the individual settings from the get-go. The only problem is the valves don't always stay open and you have to leave the trans in sport mode.

I would like to bring this back up to the top and hopefully get some suggestions. I have been spending some time trying to figure out where the coding is for the exhaust valves. I have a 2018 S5 Sportback and currently have the valves unplugged because it drives me nuts not knowing what they are doing.

I am going to try to do some more mapping tonight. I wonder if bit 9 byte 2 still has something to do with it? I am on a mission and I really want to figure this out.

I have not. I can make them open and close by running a test though....
