Audi A4 (8K) cruise control retrofit problem

Hi,

We purchased a cruise control unit from the local Audi dealer for a 2009 Audi A4 2.0 TDI.

Now, the engine accepts coding, but steering wheel controller does not ("coding rejected Error 31: request out of range").

Could it be that the steering wheel controller hardware (8K0 953 568 D) does not support cruise control? The car does not have a multi-function steering wheel.

Certainly on the previous 8E/8H platform cruise control wouldn't work with an SCSM that didn't support an MFSW - I had to replace the SCSM to get cruise working on a 2005 8E B6 S4 I used to own.

Hopefully someone will be able confirm if this is also true on the 8K platform...

The current version of VCDS should work fine. I would change that #16 coding from 000001 -to- 000005 using the Long coding helper when the new module is installed.
