    Hmm, okay thanks. I'll try resetting SMC & NVRAM.

    I was getting driver errors when connecting other devices via USB so that's good.

    I see you're running the macOS beta, I've seen unusual behaviour (not VCDS related as I use a W10 tablet for VCDS) on my MacBook Air with various beta releases over the past year.

    I wonder if some change in the macOS beta could be the problem?

    This is my suspicion too and I'm hoping it'll be resolved in future updates.

    I'll keep you guys updated.

    Issue resolved but surprisingly!

    My Mac sees the cable now. Not exactly sure how but I think the issue may have been with VMware because the only change recently was a VMware upgrade.

    Sorry that I can't provide more details, I kind of forgot about it until one day I noticed VMware asking where I wanted to connect a USB device.

    Anyway, all good. Thanks again for everyone's help!
