As described in the title.. Is that possible?

It looks like the led beam is getting brighter when the high beam switch on.. Maybe there is something I can change to do something with the low beam brightness aswell??

LasseTheDude: Hi, I don't know the answer to your question since you appear to have one of those new-fangled BCM s that report a zero code string! But it is possible that a perusal of the adaptation channels list in your BCM could shed more light (pun intended) onto your question.

So, yes - post-up your admap for the BCM - please (I want it for my database too)!!

LasseTheDude: first- thank you for posting the information. What a fascinating admap!

I've had a look at the Leuchte sets from the low beam lights and I've extracted the following table (I've only shown the relevant adaptation channels for the 2 x active functions):

vjitMNn.png

As you can see, the illumination level for both the "dipped beam" and the high-beam flash are already at the maximum level (i.e. 127), so I suspect there is no additional brightness to extract from these lamps - alas.

Don

PS: Question -the adaptation channels in Lasse's admap each have an additional "comma" and an associated extra numeric (decimal). I've shown this extra information in the table above under the ? heading. Here's a section of the admap showing the extra field:

It seems that this additional numeric has a range from 1 to 256 (so hex100) and it is not contiguous for the 1,800-ish channels in Lasse's admap. It looks like a super-set identifier, but this is a wild guess!

Anyone know what this extra numeric is and how it is applied to the channels in the admap?

Np and thank u sir :)

What about rear lights? Brake? Turn? Backup? Anything I can boost up or something funny to do? I also want google earth to show up on the active info display. Is that possible maybe? :)

It's the size of the raw data in that channel in bytes. We had some troubles with a few stupid-large channels having more data than the size of some our buffers recently, and this lets us spot that kind of issue more easily.

^^^^Arrhh............ that makes sense!

wow - so the entry for the adaptation channel IDE11477-ENG128602-Interior lighting: parameter-p_helligkeit_Fzg_geschlossen_schluessel_ab_cockpit, 100%, 256 needs a massive 256 Bytes? That's a lot of digital real-estate for a simple piece of data! I assume that it's the descriptor that takes-up the space -'cause the setting value appears to be unremarkable

Thanks

Don

PS: neat feature adding the SA for the module (if known) in the top RH corner of the admap

LasseTheDude: I've not looked at the specifics of each of the 35 x Leuchte-sets in your admap in detail, but they generally have the look-and-feel of those that are found in normal MBQ vehicles. This being so you should be able to apply the tweaks that have already been developed for previous incarnations of the BCM in your car (there are some exceptions).

If you want to "pimp-up" your rear tails (and I use these words with the upmost tact and decorum), I suggest that you have a look at the type of tweaks that appear on lots of websites for the previous mk7 Golf. If the author of the tweak instructions has been diligent, you should find the settings for channels in their stock state. Just compare these stock settings with the values in your admap - if they are the same, then it's a good indication that the tweak will work on your car.

If you aren't sure if the tweak is compatible, then ask here - I'm sure that a friendly forum member will respond as appropriate!

I guess not. All "IDE11477-ENG128602-Interior lighting: parameter" values are stored in one 256 bytes long value.
I don't know pretty much about it, but from time to time VCDS fails to store those parameters, while a specific other tool needs much time, but will work.

What about the led static cornering light that comes on under 40 km/h when turning or using the turn light. Is there possible to change the adaption for them to stay on all the time with low beams? Maybe I burn the leds if I use them all the time?

I try to code it to work until 60 km/h but they still turn off at 40. I also want to change the high beam assist speed. But can't find anything about that :/

LasseTheDude: hmm............. I'm not entirely sure that you can change these threshold values by simply using the usual SA - happy to be told otherwise if anyone else knows differently!

LasseTheDude: I'm not familiar with the static concerning light system on the newest mk7 BCMs, but from a quick perusal of your admap, it seems that the associated adaptation channels are bunched together in a newly named cluster with the unsurprising "Parent" descriptor - static AFS light.

Here's the "Child" channels for the AFS (Advanced Front lighting System) from your admap:

IDE03638-IDE04231-static AFS light-Steering wheel angle: offset
IDE03638-ENG116677-static AFS light-Abdimmgeschwindigkeit
IDE03638-ENG116673-static AFS light-bei Rueckwaertsfahrt
IDE03638-ENG116675-static AFS light-Lower speed threshold
IDE03638-ENG116682-static AFS light-Maximaltemperatur
IDE03638-ENG116679-static AFS light-obere Grenztemperatur
IDE03638-ENG116681-static AFS light-Oberer Lenkradwinkel
IDE03638-ENG116680-static AFS light-untere Grenztemperatur
IDE03638-ENG116678-static AFS light-Unterer Lenkradwinkel
IDE03638-ENG116676-static AFS light-Upper speed threshold
IDE03638-ENG116674-static AFS light-Vorschrift
IDE03638-ENG115830-static AFS light-Zeitwert Einschaltzeit Abbiegelicht

Since the cornering light lamps are not managed by Leuchte-sets in your vehicle (this did happen in earlier incarnations of halogen headlights that used fog lights for corning lights) and because your autoscan suggests that your car doesn't have an AFS CAN network (no J745 module), I suspect that your only option is to experiment with the settings in these channels - but I'm guessing! Of course the crucial part of experimentation is remembering the default channel setting - 'cause you will need to revert most (all?) changed values.

The other consideration in your quest is the legality of making the change. I'm not aware of your local road rules, but it might be prudent before proceeding to understand if it's kosher in Norway to have the cornering lights permanently illuminated with low beams - I'm almost certain that this would not be compliant with our Australian Design Rules
