Can VCDS adapt a brand new Engine ECU to the Car?

No, sorry. Q7 uses some crazy challenge/response thing to do that. The only way to do it right is on-line to the corporate mothership.

If you're an independent shop, you can register with Audi/VW for SVM/GeKo access via erWin. Once you did that, you'll be able to perform all relevant immobilizer and component protection functions like a regular dealership.
