    How to post an Auto-Scan

    Using the classic, Windows-based VCDS:

Also, please wrap your Auto-Scan data in CODE tags, like this:

What that does is put your data into a frame that people can scroll independently, or scroll right past if they don't want to look at the whole thing, like this:

    Code:
    Chassis Type: 4G0
    Scan: 01 02 03 05 08 09 0E 10 13 15 16 17 19 28 36 3B 3C 42 44 46

Obscuring your VIN: Personally, I think it's silly to do this. Your VIN is in full view at the base of the windshield to anyone that walks by your car, so I don't have a problem posting VINs of cars we own on the 'net. However, some people don't wish to do that, and if you're one of them, please keep in mind that it's the last few digits that uniquely identify your car, while the first 12 or so tell us what kind of car it is, where it was made, etc. So if you feel it's necessary to obscure your VIN, please do it like this: WAUBGAFC5CN0xxxxx

    -Uwe-

EDIT/PS: Please post the WHOLE scan, not just the Gateway Installation List portion as shown above.
