    VCDS Beta 17.4.0 - A Speed Leap

    Hi,
    I’m impressed with the speed of recording (Advanced Measuring Values) using new Group UDS request feature in your VCDS Beta 17.4.0 . To make most of it, would like to hear a few words about implementation or restrictions because not all selectable settings doesn’t seem to work stable . Anyways, the setting “8” seems to work for me perfectly. Setting “11” was somehow unstable. I did a couple of long runs, more than 5 hours without any glitches. Thank you very much!!

    But – now I have a wish. Can we now use the speed to add the number of recorded parameters?
    As I am working on my new engine loaded with tens of sensors and actuators, current limitation of 12 recorded measuring values doesn’t allow me to record all interesting stuff at once. The 12 values have been very nice, giving sample rate of about one set (12 values)/second – and, I have been very pleased with that.

    Now with your new tool I received the same 12 sample set more than five times in a second.
    I would be happy to get a big bunch of samples "only" once a second, so could we now do 60 measuring values/second? Or perhaps only 50? 40?

    I understand that bigger number of parameters would hit limitations of VCScope but benefits of having capability to record more different values would definitely overcome that downside.

    Anyways, I have been very satisfied with your product – but because you revealed that there might be potential for even more… I look forward to new upgrades.

    Just an update. Group UDS requests settings split, 9, 10 and 11 do not work for me. Setting 7 and 8 - perfect. Tested with engine CXFA.
    And, thanks for including engine CXEB.

    I recently tested the new setting - but I did not understand it - what does "split" mean?
    The only option, which was working is split by 8. This way it was possible to turbo-log more than 8 values.

    And I have to say, that the time stamp in/before every column is ab bit annoying, because when the values are grouped - the time stamp is always the same.
    This just eats space and reduce the overview - could you please remove them?

    Instead of grouping the values into one group, you can split them into two groups. This is still somewhat slower than a single group, but certainly faster than reading them one at a time.

    Most modules only allow 8 items in a group, but a few allow more, so automatically splitting at 8 is not an optimal solution for all modules.

    If you're logging enough values where splitting makes sense, the time stamps on a row should not all be the same; they should give an indication when each group was received. I suppose we could have just two time stamps, one for each group, but having a time-stamp column appear in a somewhat arbitrary location (depending on where the split is) would make it a pain to parse the file.

    I think that the data format is just perfect as it is now. And yes, parsing the data is now extremely simple because each data value comes with time stamp of its own- no need to use any brainpower when you move/import/export data of recordings - just grab pair of "columns".

    Especially useful these individual time stamps will be as soon as VCDS will allow us record some 60+ measuring values - please! .

    So, let's stick with the current format - it's only about 3MB/hour = really nothing on today's computers.

    I have notice after upgrading from 15.7 version to the never version vcds the valeu dont show kg/100 km even not the beta.

    IDE08140-Driving profiled for range remaining CNG,8.0 ( ????? )

    On the 15.7 was this valeu Driving profiled for range remaining CNG,8.0 kg/100 km.

    With a UDS module like that, we would need to see a scan from the version that had it and a scan from a version that doesn't in order to investigate why the data is not in there anymore.
